Meera Manek

Meera Manek, MBA is a dedicated communicator, educator, and motivator with the ability to build consensus and influence change. As an organizational leader and public speaker with experience in speechwriting, advocacy/social justice, presentation skills and public speaking coaching, and event planning for diverse groups, Meera is an expert at training and coaching individuals to elevate their performance for speaking engagements by helping to improve messaging, stage presence, and delivery. She consults individuals looking to improve their abilities to connect and influence audiences small or large to take action.  Meera has worked with CEOs, non-profit executives, entertainment professionals, business/sales professionals, entrepreneurs, real estate agents, politicians, fitness instructors, clergy, actors, and students.  

Some people jump out of an airplane for their birthday, I tried stand-up comedy. As a public speaker, I saw it as the most challenging stage. I love to make people laugh and after I delivered my first joke, I knew this was for me.

Meera has been practicing the art of public speaking since she won a Junior High Speech Contest and has since spoken to numerous audiences, large and small, either as a speaker, moderator, or master of ceremonies.  Since 1999, Meera has been a member of Toastmasters International (public speaking organization) and has earned the distinction of Advanced Toastmaster. She has served as an Area Governor and Club President and mostly recently, as the Vice President of Education for Warner Bros. Toastmasters. During graduate school, she studied speechwriting with former Vice Presidential Speechwriters.

Meera also provides non-profits and public advocacy groups with management and communication services including board and staff management, grant writing, implementing and developing strategic work-plans, leadership on advocacy work, developing and maintaining funder relations, conducting speechwriting and presentation skills trainings, and drafting communication pieces such as speeches, policy briefs, grant proposals, annual reports, and web management.  Clients include: Safe Place for Youth (Venice); ACLU of Southern California; Hollywood Homeless Youth Partnership (Children's Hospital LA, Covenant House, LA LGBT Center, LAYN, My Friend's Place, StepUp), and Los Angeles Coalition to End Youth Homelessness.
